Che!
|
My proyecto I made Cuban food and translated a recipe into Spanish using commands. For this project I made Cuban Turrones which are like candied hazelnuts and almonds. I brought these to exhibition and they were a hit!! These candied nuts were delicious, they were chewy and semi sweet. They turned out great! During this project I learned about commands and I learned how to use them in a way that Che would use them. During this project I also learned a lot about Che the famous Cuban Revolutionist.

Las Ramblas

This project was about a famous Spanish speaking person of our choice, about whom we wrote a past tense Spanish presentation. I wrote my presentation about Pablo Picasso, a famous artist. During this project we learned how to write in the past tense and use preterite and the imperfect. We had to compose our presentation of slides about who our person was, why they were famous, what they did, and their personal life. The exhibition for this project was really fun. In preparation for the exhibition everyone created a present tense elevator speech as if they were the character. We also provided a list of questions for the public to ask during our presentations about our character. Everyone dressed up like their famous Spanish speaking person and gave short 30 seconds to a minute speeches to everyone that came by. This exhibition was really fun for me and I got a lot of good feed back on my exhibition. I really enjoyed seeing all the different characters and dressing up as Pablo Picasso!!

La Casa en Mango Street
La casa en Mango Street was a project where we learned about verbs and their conjugations: present tense, perfecto de indicativo, preterite, and imperfect. Together we translated chapters learning about a family who lived in a house and then wrote stories similar to that story. We wrote stories about the places we lived and the current house that we live in, then created a voice recording of our story. This project was fun and helpful for me because I learned about different tenses of Spanish and I got to practice speaking Spanish which is really how you learn Spanish.
Cuento de mi niñez

Reflection
This Spanish project was a story that we had to write about our childhood. It could either be a fictional story that we made up or a real story that we actually experienced. While writing this story we wrote in the preterite and imperfect tense. I think that it is important to express myself while using the past tense because without the past tense your language and speech would be limited to a small amount. I think using the imperfect tense and preterite helped in writing the story because it helped us to understand the past tense and write a descriptive story about a past story. |
Un Dia en la Vida de Oprah
|
The project A Day in the Life of... was a project where we got to pick anyone that we wanted to and make a book about their everyday life. I chose to do my book on Oprah Winfrey. Throughout my story I talk about all the things that Oprah does which include waking up and getting ready, going to the store, being featured on a talk show, etc. This project consisted of us using reflexive verbs to describe what is happening in the story. |
Por Que Statement
Quiero hablar una otra idioma porque quiero hacer viajes internacionales en el futuro, para un trabajo, y por mi conocimientos.
I want to talk another language because in the future when I travel internationally I want to be able to communicate and talk with the locals. Exploring new languages is very fun and I enjoy expanding my knowledge with the language of another country. Being able to communicate with people of other internationalities has always been very interesting and fun! I also enjoy speaking and learning another language because it opens up another door for schooling and education, travel, and experience.
